The short version
- We collect only what our apps need to work, to show ads in free versions, and to improve.
- We never sell your personal information.
- AI features send the content you choose to our AI provider (OpenAI) only after you agree, and it is not used to train AI models.
- You can delete your account and data at any time, in the app or from this page.
1. Who we are
Editor’s Choice Apps LLC (“Editor’s Choice Apps”, “we”, “us”) publishes mobile apps on the Apple App Store and Google Play under the developer name Editor’s Choice Apps LLC, and operates this website. This Privacy Policy explains what information our apps (the “Apps”), our website and related services (together, the “Services”) collect, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have.
We are the controller of the personal data described here. Contact us at editorchoiceappsllc@gmail.com. Some Apps may show additional notices inside the app; those notices apply together with this policy.
2. Information we collect
Depending on the App and the features you use, we collect the following:
| Type of data | Examples | How we get it |
|---|---|---|
| Account information | Email address, name or display name, account ID; if you use Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In, the details you choose to share (Apple can give us a private relay email instead of your real one) | From you, when you create an account |
| Content you create or submit | Photos, images, audio recordings, documents and text you choose to process; prompts you send to AI features and the results | From you, using the camera, photo library or microphone with your permission |
| Purchase information | Product purchased, subscription status, trial and renewal dates, transaction IDs. We never receive your card details. | From Apple or Google |
| Usage information | Features used, screens viewed, session length, app version, settings | Automatically (Google Firebase Analytics) |
| Diagnostics | Crash logs, stack traces, performance data, device state at the time of a crash | Automatically (Google Firebase Crashlytics) |
| Device information & identifiers | Device model, OS version, language, approximate region (country, derived from IP address or settings), app instance and installation IDs, and the advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, only with your permission; Advertising ID on Android) | Automatically (our SDKs and Google AdMob) |
| Support messages | Your name, email address and anything you include in your message | From you, when you contact us |
What we do not collect: precise (GPS) location, your contacts, health or fitness data, or payment card details. Our Apps never access your camera, photos or microphone in the background.
3. Device permissions
Some features need access to parts of your device. The App asks for your permission first, and only when you start a feature that needs it:
- Camera: to take photos or scan documents inside the App.
- Photos / media library: to open the images you pick. Where your system supports it, the App only sees the photos you select.
- Microphone: to record audio while you are actively recording.
Media is processed on your device whenever possible. It leaves your device only when you use a feature that needs our servers, such as an AI feature (see Section 5). You can allow or revoke permissions at any time in your device Settings; the rest of the App keeps working without them.
4. How we use information
- To provide the Apps and the features you ask for, including your account and saved content;
- To process purchases, unlock premium features and restore purchases on your devices;
- To show ads in free versions of the Apps (Section 6);
- To understand how the Apps are used, fix crashes and improve performance and design;
- To answer your support requests and send important service messages (for example about your account or subscription);
- To keep the Services secure and to prevent fraud, abuse and violations of our Terms of Use;
- To comply with legal obligations.
We use your information only for these purposes. We do not use your photos, recordings, documents or AI conversations to target ads.
5. AI features and third-party AI
Some Apps offer AI features such as scanning, translation, transcription, summaries, chat and image tools.
- What is sent: when you use an AI feature, the content you submit for it (for example text, images, audio or documents) is sent over an encrypted connection to our AI server, which forwards it to OpenAI, our AI service provider, to generate the result.
- Your permission first: before any of your content is sent to a third-party AI provider for the first time, the App clearly tells you and asks for your explicit permission. You can withdraw it at any time in the App’s settings; AI features then stop, and the rest of the App keeps working.
- No training: we do not use your content to train AI models. OpenAI does not use data submitted through its API to train its models, and keeps it for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring unless the law requires longer (OpenAI data controls).
- Our servers: our AI server does not keep the content of your requests after the result is delivered. It keeps limited technical logs (time, app version, error codes, IP address) for security and abuse prevention, deleted automatically within 30 days.
Please avoid submitting sensitive personal information (such as health, financial or identity documents) to AI features. AI results may be inaccurate; see our Terms of Use.
6. Advertising
Free versions of some Apps show ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob and its partners may collect your device’s advertising identifier, IP address, approximate location derived from it, and how you interact with ads, in order to serve and measure ads, limit how often you see them, prevent fraud and, where you allow it, personalize them.
- iOS: we ask for permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you choose “Ask App Not to Track”, we do not access your IDFA and ads are not personalized based on tracking. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Android: you can reset or delete your Advertising ID in your device settings (usually Settings → Privacy → Ads).
- EEA, UK and Switzerland: we ask for your consent through Google’s consent tool before using data for personalized ads, as required by Google’s EU User Consent Policy. You can change your choices at any time from the privacy options in the App’s settings.
Learn more in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. Buying a premium version or subscription removes ads where the App offers it.
7. In-app purchases and subscriptions
All payments are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their own terms and privacy policies. We receive only the information needed to unlock and manage your purchase (product, status, dates and transaction IDs) and never see your payment card details. You manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple or Google account, not in the App; see our Terms of Use.
8. Service providers we use
We share information only with the service providers below, and only what each one needs to provide its service to us:
| Provider | What it does for us | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase | Usage analytics (Analytics), crash reporting (Crashlytics) and, where an App uses it, sign-in | Usage and diagnostic data, device information, app instance IDs, account details for sign-in |
| Google AdMob | Ads in free versions of the Apps | Advertising ID (with permission), IP address, device information, ad interactions |
| OpenAI | Processing for AI features, only after your permission | The content you submit to AI features |
| Apple & Google | App distribution, payments, Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In | Purchase information; sign-in details you choose to share |
| Hosting providers | Servers that run our website and AI server, located in the United States | Requests passing through our servers, technical logs |
Equal protection: we only work with providers that are bound by contract and by their own published policies to protect your data at least to the same standard as described in this Privacy Policy, and to use it only to provide their services. We do not allow them to use your data for their own unrelated purposes, except as described in their policies linked above (for example Google’s use of advertising data where you have allowed personalized ads).
9. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information for money. Besides the service providers in Section 8, we share information only:
- With your consent or at your direction;
- When required by law, regulation, legal process or an enforceable government request;
- To protect the rights, property and safety of our users, the public or Editor’s Choice Apps;
- In connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Showing personalized ads may count as “sharing” or “targeted advertising” under some U.S. state privacy laws. You can opt out at any time as explained in Section 12.
10. Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
- Contract: to provide the Apps, your account, purchases and the features you request;
- Consent: personalized ads, tracking (App Tracking Transparency), sending your content to third-party AI, and optional permissions. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing;
- Legitimate interests: analytics, crash reporting, security and fraud prevention, and improving our Services, or your consent where the law requires it;
- Legal obligation: for example tax and accounting records.
11. How long we keep data
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Account information and saved content | Until you delete your account; then deleted within 30 days |
| Content sent to AI features | Not kept on our servers after the result is delivered; up to 30 days at OpenAI for abuse monitoring |
| Content processed only on your device | Stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App |
| Usage analytics | Up to 14 months |
| Crash reports | Up to 90 days |
| AI server technical logs | Up to 30 days |
| Purchase and transaction records | As long as tax and accounting laws require (typically up to 7 years) |
| Support emails | Up to 24 months after the conversation ends |
When data is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous so it can no longer identify you.
12. Your rights and choices
Wherever you live, you can:
- Revoke permissions (camera, photos, microphone, tracking, notifications) in your device Settings;
- Turn off AI data sharing in the App’s settings;
- Change ad choices through App Tracking Transparency (iOS), your Advertising ID settings (Android) or the App’s privacy options;
- Delete your account and data as described in Section 13.
Depending on where you live (for example the EEA, UK, Switzerland, California and other U.S. states), you may also have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to opt out of targeted advertising or the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. To use these rights, email editorchoiceappsllc@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity, and we will respond within the time required by law (usually 30–45 days). You can appeal our decision by replying to it, and you may complain to your local data protection authority. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
13. Delete your account and data
Editor’s Choice Apps LLC: account and data deletion
This applies to every App we publish on the App Store and Google Play.
In the App: open Settings → Account → Delete account and confirm.
Without the App: email editorchoiceappsllc@gmail.com with the subject “Delete my account” from the email address linked to your account. Tell us the App name and how you sign in (email, Apple or Google). We confirm within 7 days and complete deletion within 30 days.
Before you delete: deleting your account or the App does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it first: on iPhone, Settings → your name → Subscriptions; on Android, Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
What we delete: your account profile and email address, saved content, AI history, preferences, and the identifiers linked to your account.
What we keep: purchase and transaction records that tax and accounting laws require us to keep (typically up to 7 years), a record that you asked for deletion, and anonymous statistics that no longer identify you. Copies in backups are overwritten within 30 days. Analytics and crash data that are not linked to your account expire as described in Section 11.
Want some data deleted but keep your account? Email us and tell us what to delete.
14. Children’s privacy
Our Apps are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country, such as 16 in parts of the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
15. Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and secure, up-to-date servers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work hard to protect your data, and we will notify you and the authorities about a data breach where the law requires it.
16. International transfers
Editor’s Choice Apps LLC is based in the United States, and our servers and service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses to protect data transferred from the EEA, UK or Switzerland.
17. Our website
This website does not use cookies, analytics or ads, and it does not track you across other sites. Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested and time) for security and troubleshooting; they are rotated and deleted automatically. The website loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when you visit. The contact form does not send or store anything on our servers: it opens your own email app.
18. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and change the “Last updated” date. If the changes are significant, we will also tell you in the App or by email before they take effect.
